Roadside bomb strikes MND-B patrol
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO
BAGHDAD – Two Multi-National Division - Baghdad Soldiers died when an improvised explosive device detonated near a patrol south of the Iraqi capital Feb 2.
The unit was conducting an assessment of battle positions in the area when the roadside bomb detonated, killing the two Soldiers and wounding another.
Earlier this week, members of the unit assisted in several Iraqi Army-led raids in southern Baghdad to minimize sectarian violence and disrupt militia activity resulting in the detention of 23 suspected insurgents.
The deceased Soldiers’ names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
