General Services Administration Awards Northrop Grumman $92 Million Contract for Los Angeles Air Force Base

MCLEAN, Va., Feb. 5, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- The General Services Administration (GSA) has awarded Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) a contract, valued at $92 million over 48 months, to provide information technology services to support a single, secure communications network for the Los Angeles Air Force Base. The award is a task order under GSA's ANSWER contract vehicle.

Under the terms of the task order, Northrop Grumman's Information Technology (IT) sector will conduct network engineering, operations and maintenance support, help desk operations and provide software development for the Los Angeles Air Force Base's Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC). In addition, work will include maintaining existing and newly-added networks for SMC and Missile Defense Agency clients.

"Northrop Grumman's continued work with the Los Angeles Air Force Base will include the highest level of base security," said Catherine Kuenzel, vice president of Enterprise Infrastructure Services and Solutions for Northrop Grumman IT's Defense group. "Additionally, flexibility to ensure that services can easily adapt to the on-going needs of the Space and Missile Systems Center will be a key component moving forward."

Work on the contract will be conducted at the Los Angeles Air Force Base in Los Angeles.
