Insurgent-placed bomb strikes MND-B convoy
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO

BAGHDAD – A Multi-National Division - Baghdad Soldier died when an improvised explosive device detonated near a patrol in a northern section of the Iraqi capital Jan. 20.

The unit was conducting a presence patrol to limit and control violence in the area when the roadside bomb detonated, killing one Soldier and wounding another.

Earlier this week, members of the unit conducted raids in northern Baghdad to disrupt militia activities resulting in the detention of 12 suspected insurgents.

The deceased Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
