Soldier killed by roadside bomb in Baghdad
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO
BAGHDAD – An improvised explosive device detonated near a Multi-National Division - Baghdad patrol, killing one Soldier in an eastern section of the Iraqi capital Dec. 27.
The unit was conducting a route clearance mission when a roadside bomb exploded near them; two other Soldiers were also wounded in the explosion.
Recently, during a week-long period, the unit involved in this attack found four improvised explosive devices while conducting route clearance operations. In all instances, the unit secured the sites, allowing an explosive ordnance disposal team to disable the devices.
The deceased Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
