
General Dynamics Awarded Five-Year U.S. Air Force Air Logistics Center Contract

FAIRFAX, Va. – The U.S. Air Force Ogden Air Logistics Center has awarded General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), a prime contract under the Design Engineering Support Program II (DESP II). The total potential value of this multiple-award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract to all awardees, if all options are exercised, is $1.9 billion over the five-year period of performance. There is no initial contract value.
Under the contract, General Dynamics will provide design and engineering technical support services for Department of Defense (DOD) mission weapon systems, components and support equipment. This support includes complete process analysis and improvements for DOD systems maintenance operations.
“With the award of the DESP II ID/IQ contract vehicle, General Dynamics will be able to provide highly efficient logistics and cost-effective maintenance and repair operations for a wide range of DOD weapons systems, spanning a broad array of customers, including the air logistics commands, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Army and Navy logistics centers, NASA and additional DOD organizations,” said Al Whitmore, General Dynamics Information Technology senior vice president Navy/Air Force Systems.
General Dynamics also will perform engineering design, integration, systems modifications and manufacturing activities to support process analysis and improvements for maintenance/repair operations for DoD systems including the Air Force (AFMC), the Army Tank and Automotive Command (TACOM), the U.S. Navy, Marines and all other government entities having similar systems operational, maintenance, repair and modification needs.
