USS SAN ANTONIO, At Sea (NNS) -- Sailors aboard the amphibious transport dock USS San Antonio (LPD 17) received a special visit Aug. 21, from Commander, Amphibious Group 2 Rear Adm. Garry Hall.

“The admiral was here to take part in an initiative that gets business leaders to sea on our Navy ships so that they can understand the great work that young people like the outstanding Sailors on San Antonio are doing,” said San Antonio’s Commanding Officer, Cmdr. Brad Lee.

Sailors aboard treasured the visit from the admiral.

“It means a lot that the admiral took time out of his day to come out here and talk to us. We have been going through a lot of underway time and work-ups preparing for ULTRA C and ULTRA E, so his visit means a lot to the crew," said Seamen Apprentice Jonathan K. Brinson.

“The visit was a smashing success and once again San Antonio lived up to its motto of 'Never retreat…Never Surrender!'” said Lee.

San Antonio and her crew are at sea conducting Combat Systems Ship Board Qualifications, in an attempt to see how well the ship's Combat System's Suite and ship's weapons work together.
