RAFAEL Receives Acknowledgment from US DCMA

November 7, 2006 Haifa -- RAFAEL Armament Development Authority Ltd. received recognition from the US Department of Defense and the US Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) this week for its continued support of the US Army throughout its own difficult time this past summer.

In spite of the state of war that prevailed in Israel in July/August this year and the pressure that RAFAEL was under to supply its products in real-time to its own Israel Defense Forces, still RAFAEL continued to supply the US Army with essential equipment, such as armor for the Bradley and AAV7 APCs, thermal batteries and the GREM (Simon) door breaching rifle grenade.

At a ceremony that took place this week at RAFAEL, Director of the DCMA, Mr. Keith Ernst, presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the CEO and President of RAFAEL, VADM (ret) Yedidia Yaari, and said, "The US Army was in immediate need of RAFAEL's products and the company went above and beyond to supply them. For this we are very grateful."

This is not the first time that RAFAEL has received recognition from the US Government. Last year, RAFAEL was awarded a commendation citing that its armor that protected US Marine and US Army vehicles was very successful in the war in Iraq and had saved the lives of many American soldiers.

The armor that was developed by RAFAEL is the most advanced armor in the world and continues to withstand multiple threats launched against the American troops in Iraq.

The GREM (Simon) door breaching rifle grenade recently won the US Army's Award of Excellence and was chosen as one of the ten greatest inventions of 2005.
