IMMEDIATE RELEASE | November 13, 2006 |
The Department of Defense announced today the death of two soldiers who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. They died in Baghdad, Iraq, on Nov. 9 after an improvised explosive device detonated near their vehicle. Both soldiers were assigned to the Army's 410th Military Police Company, 720th Military Police Battalion, 89th Military Police Brigade, Fort Hood, Texas.
Killed were:
Sgt. Courtland A. Kennard, 22, of Starkville, Miss.
Staff Sgt. Gregory W. G. McCoy, 26, of Webberville, Mich.
