
IAI's Elta Systems Group Awarded $20 Million Contract to Supply EL/L-8248 RWJ Early Warning Self Protection Suite

EuroNaval 2006, Paris, France - Elta Systems Group, a subsidiary of Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI), has been awarded a $20 million contract to supply its EL/L-8248 Radar Warning & Jammer (RWJ) Electronic Warfare (EW) self-protection suite to an undisclosed customer.
EL/L-8248 RWJ is a compact radar warning& jammer designed to enhance the survivability of airborne military platforms operating in dense hostile environments.
EL/L-8248 RWJ achieves this by suppressing multiple threats from air-to-air and ground-to-air radar-guided weapon systems. The early warning system shares its hardware and software to execute Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) and Jamming missions.
EL/L-8248 RWJ is a flexible system that can be easily integrated into more comprehensive self-protection suites that include additional systems such as a Laser Warning Receiver (LWR), Missile Approach Warning System (MAWS) and an Advanced Chaff and Flares Dispenser (ACFD).
