
BAE SYSTEMS RECEIVES $87 MILLION SURFACE COMBATANT REPAIR CONTRACT

PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii – BAE Systems has received an $87 million ship repair contract from the U.S. Navy. The Naval Sea Systems Command contract is a multi-ship, multi-option award for selected restricted and continuous maintenance availabilities on DDG-51 (destroyers), FFG-7 (frigates), and CG-47 (cruiser) class ships homeported at, and visiting, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The contract includes an initial base year plus six option years, and its total value could reach $270 million.
“With this much-anticipated win, Hawaii Shipyards continues its critical repair services for all 12 U.S. Navy surface vessels stationed in Hawaii,” said Al Krekich, president, BAE Systems Ship Repair. “We are pleased to play such a key role in maintaining the readiness of our Pacific Fleet surface ships.”
Work will be performed at BAE Systems Hawaii Shipyards and will be completed in 2013.
