CACI Awarded Estimated $50 Million in Three New Task Orders Under Strategic Services Sourcing (S3) Contract With U.S. Army
Company's Total S3 Awards Now Top Estimated $133.5 Million Since Contract Award in March 2006
Arlington, VA, October 3, 2006 - CACI International Inc (NYSE:CAI) announced today that it has been awarded three new task orders, totaling an estimated $50 million in value, under the Strategic Services Sourcing (S3) contract with the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Life Cycle Management Command that CACI was awarded in March 2006. CACI is one of just seven prime contractors on the S3 program, which has a total estimated ceiling value of $19.25 billion. The new awards are an estimated $38 million task order to support the U.S. Army Project Manager, Battle Command in the management of Army Battle Command Systems (ABCS); an estimated $9.5 million task order to support the Product Manager, Robotic and Unmanned Sensors (PM RUS); and an estimated $2.7 million task order to support the Project Manager, Aerial Common Sensor (ACS). CACI has now been awarded more than an estimated $133.5 million in S3 task orders in just the first six months of the contract.
CACI's ABCS task order has a base period of two years followed by a one year option. The ABCS are digital command, control, communications, computers and intelligence (C4I) systems that give Army commanders vital battlefield information. ABCS modules include networked sensors that instantly transmit nuclear, biological, or chemical warnings and reports to protect troops against such attacks. CACI's team will provide systems engineering, software, logistics, and field support services to help Army commanders gain a better perspective of their battlefield environment and make more informed decisions in guiding the warfighter.
CACI's PM RUS task order is for one base year and one option year. The PM, RUS develops, produces, fields, and sustains sensors and sensor systems for unmanned air and ground applications in support of reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition (RSTA) missions. CACI's team will provide business operations, engineering, and logistics support that includes ensuring the new systems meet Army standards for operability and sustainability. Both task orders consolidate the efforts of several contractors under CACI's new leadership.
CACI's ACS task order is for three base years and two option years. The new ACS system provides both ground and airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities that include the use of satellites, manned and unmanned aircraft, and ground-based analysis facilities to provide precise targeting, imaging, and geolocation. CACI's team will provide research, analytic, and program management support to help the Army ensure the system is rapidly deployable, tailorable, and scalable to meet the needs of battlefield commanders.
According to Paul Cofoni, President of U.S. Operations, "CACI brings considerable expertise in the management of tactical intelligence systems for the U.S. Army. We understand the Army's mission and technical environment, and will apply our capabilities to help our clients provide a coordinated, 'common picture' of intelligence information that best supports our troops."
Dr. J.P. (Jack) London, CACI Chairman, President, and CEO, said, "We're proud that the U.S. Army continues to choose CACI to serve its critical missions. As the Army transforms its systems and capabilities to meet the needs of the 21st-century warfighter, CACI will work side-by-side with our Army clients to deliver proven solutions that protect warfighters, win engagements, and continue to succeed in the war on terrorism."
