
U.S. Army Awards General Dynamics $9 Million for 120mmM1002 TPMP-T Ammunition Production

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J., has awarded General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems a $9.3 million contract for manufacture and delivery of 120mm M1002 Target Practice Multi-Purpose Tracer (TPMP-T) Cartridges. General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD).
The M1002 Target Practice Multi-Purpose Tracer (TPMP-T) training cartridge provides the U.S. soldier with comprehensive training for the M830A1 High Explosive Anti-Tank Multi-Purpose Tracer (HEAT-MP-T) tactical cartridge. With its matched exterior ballistics and time-of-flight parameters, the M1002 allows for safe and cost-effective training without the use of high-explosive ammunition.

Work will be performed in Middletown, Iowa; St. Petersburg, Fla.; and Red Lion, Pa. Work is expected to be completed by Sept. 22, 2010. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
