Pakistan, US Navy to conduct joint exercises next week

Pakistani and the US Navy will conduct a three-day joint exercise next week, a Pakistan Navy statement said on Friday.
The Inspired Union '06 will begin on Sept 4 and will continue until Sept 6 in the northern Arabian Sea, the statement said.
The exercise involves Advance Maritime Interdiction Operations, counter-terrorism and other wide range professional exercises, it said.
The exercise will be conducted in 3 phases, according to the statement.
The units participating in the exercise from the Pakistan Navy are the PNS Shahjahan, PNS Badr, PNS Moawin, PNS/M Saad and from the US Navy the USS Nicholas, USS Mcfaul, USS Albuquerque and the US aircraft carrier Enterprise.
Special service forces from both sides will also participate in the exercise.
Pakistani and American troops had also conducted joint exercises in April last year.
