Taliban not to hold talks with govt, to resist invaders: Spokesman

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Islamabad, Aug 25, IRNA
Taliban-Talks
Taliban will never hold talks with Afghan government till the presence of a single foreign soldier in Afghanistan, a spokesman of Taliban Dr Muhammad Hanif said on Thursday.

"We assure the people that Islamic Emirate will never disappoint them and will keep on continuing sacred resistance till the presence of a single invader," the spokesman said in a statement, received here from an undisclosed location in Afghanistan.

He denied reports about the possibility of talks between Taliban and the Afghan government, he said the invading forces and Karzai government have adopted a policy of telling lie and were trying to create mistrust in the Afghan Mujahid nation and diver its attention from the facts through media.

The forces have again come up with the issue of talks between the Mujahideen of Islamic Emirate and NATO over the past few days as they are facing defeat at the hands of Afghan Mujahideen, the spokesman added.

He clarified that the Afghan government and invading forces want to create gulf between the Taliban and the people through such baseless reports but they would not succeed in their nefarious designs.

The fact is that despite such propaganda from invaders the youths are joining Mujahideen.

He made it clear that Taliban have neither held talks with invading forces and their puppets nor ready to sit with them in the presence of the country's invasion.

No wise person can sit for talks in such situation, he questioned.

The spokesman said if the Taliban had any lust for power or they could tolerate invasion they would have earlier surrendered to invaders.

Mujahideen of Islamic Emirate had preferred Jihad, the way of people's honor and are still following the same path, the statement concluded.
