BAE Systems Opens Product Support Facility at Robins Air Force Base

17 Aug 2006 | Ref. 243/2006

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia -- BAE Systems has opened a 6,000-square-foot facility near Robins Air Force Base to support and upgrade Air Force equipment and software. The BAE Systems Readiness and Sustainment Center is located five miles east of the Air Force facility in an Advanced Technology Park at 132 Osigian Blvd.

BAE Systems is currently completing the installation of infrastructure and equipment and will have the facility ready for operations in December 2006.

The center will provide product life-cycle support services that include software upgrade development, depot support, and performance-based logistics (PBL). PBL is a Department of Defense strategy that optimizes total system availability while minimizing cost and logistics footprint.

Growing pressure on defense spending is expected to increase the militarys reliance on maintenance and upgrades of existing systems and equipment, said Jeff Cook, BAE Systems vice president for Readiness and Sustainment in Merrimack, N.H. Opening this new facility will enable us to provide more effective and efficient life-cycle support and equipment upgrades to one of our key Air Force customers.
