General Dynamics to Provide Computer Systems Operations and Maintenance to the U.S. Navy Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center San Diego

FAIRFAX, Va. – The U.S. Navy Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center San Diego (SSC San Diego) has selected General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), to provide computer systems operations, hardware maintenance and systems engineering support to its Tactical Systems Integration and Interoperability Division (Code 245). The total potential value of the contract, if all options are exercised, is $16.5 million over a five-year period of performance.

“General Dynamics is proud to continue supporting SSC San Diego’s computer systems,” said Ken Slaght, senior vice president at General Dynamics Information Technology. “This contract win validates our past success in supporting the naval divisions that provide information technology support for the completion of operational missions. At the same time, we are pleased with this new opportunity to provide leading systems engineering services to the Tactical Systems Integration and Interoperability Division.”

Under this contract, General Dynamics will provide maintenance, field engineering, computer systems operation and administration and configuration management services in support of the Combined Test Bed laboratories for SSC San Diego. Additionally, General Dynamics will provide hardware maintenance for computers, peripherals, tactical displays, communications equipment and networks.

SSC San Diego is one of five field activities of Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR). SSC San Diego provides the U.S. Navy with research, development, test and evaluation, engineering and fleet support for command, control and communication systems and ocean surveillance. SSC San Diego provides information resources to support the joint warfighter in mission execution and force protection.

The contract was awarded in the name of Anteon, which was acquired by General Dynamics in June 2006.
