The U.S. Navy orders additional aircraft carrier-based JETI Systems from EADS
* U.S. Navy ramps up its 15 JETI Systems by two more orders

The subsidiary EADS North America Defense Test and Services, part of EADS Test & Services, announced the receipt of a U.S. Navy contract for two additional aircraft carrier-based Jet Engine Test Instrumentation (JETI) systems, which brings the total systems provided to the U.S. Navy to 17. Of these, 11 are sea-based systems.
Each of the ordered JETI Systems includes a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) data acquisition and throttle control system that provides complete intermediate level engine test capability to the U.S. Navy. The EADS North America Defense Test and Services solution uses common hardware and test programme sets for both land and sea-based installations. This common platform is capable of testing the F414, F404, F110, F405, F402 and J52 jet engines, as well as two auxiliary power units used on Navy aircraft.
The contract, valued at $ 1.58 million, was awarded by the U.S Navy’s Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in Lakehurst, New Jersey.
