Iran denies allegations on its military presence in Lebanon

An Iranian diplomat denied here Saturday Zionist regime's allegations on presence of Iranian troops in Lebanon.

"By spreading such allegations, the Zionist regime is after escalating tension in the region, he said.

The diplomat, who spoke to IRNA on condition of anonymity, said the Zionist regime intended to portrait itself as the innocent side and escalate tension in the whole region
by spreading such "false and misleading" reports.

Commenting on recent allegations by the Zionist regime on the presence of Iranian troops in Lebanon and their involvement in launching missile attacks against Zionist targets, he said the psychological warfare launched by the Zionist regime is aimed at breaking down the unity in Lebanon.

An intelligence agent of the Zionist regime claimed on Saturday Iranian troops have assisted forces of the Lebanese Hizbullah for targeting by missiles an Israeli navy ship on Friday off the coast of Lebanon.

The Associated Press, reporting from the Holy Qods, quoted the agent as claiming that about 100 of the Iranian troops were present in Lebanon.
