Influential Maoist leader Badal, alias Ram Bahadur Thapa, Friday said that the CPN-Maoists would continue their "struggle" until a federal governance system without the king was attained.
"We have to strengthen the tie between the Maoists and the civil society to establish a federal state," Badal said Friday at a program in Beltar of Udayapur, Kantipur reported from Kathmandu.
Commenting on the recently unveiled budget of the seven-party alliance government, Badal said that it was against the people's aspirations.
The Maoists will oppose the budget by forming a republican front, Badal said.
Badal was in Udayapur for a conference of the "eastern command" of the Maoists.
