Jun 8, 2006
Yair Ramati, Israel Aircraft Industries' VP Marketing: "Future armies will use more automation and robotics, and that's where IAI's advanced technology and experience stand out"
Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) will exhibit its new comprehensive approach to land warfare at the Eurosatory 2006 International Exhibition for Land and Land-Air Defense, in Paris, France (June 12-16, 2006). IAI will display its intelligence and command and control systems, sensors and smart munitions, in use with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and foreign militaries.
"In future land warfare intelligence, command and control, and precision engagement will become high priorities, and in all these fields IAI can make significant contributions. Future armies will have fewer war fighters and use more automation and robotics, and that's where IAI's advanced technology and experience stand out," said Yair Ramati, IAI's newly appointed Corporate Vice President for Marketing.
"Based on our experience of airborne and naval systems, IAI can contribute significantly to future land warfare scenarios. At Eurosatory, IAI will demonstrate its capabilities in an integrated display that shows how different systems can collaborate, share information, accelerate information processing and facilitate decision-making to allow rapid target engagement.
IAI's Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have proven unique capabilities to control, link, and share sensor information with ground forces. In the field of Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs), IAI will display its new Guardium autonomous patrol vehicle.
In artillery, the transformation from fire-support based on statistical firing to precision artillery is already here. By hardening navigation systems, inertial sensors and actuators, using commercial off-the-shelf technology, guidance systems can now be installed in artillery shells, mortar bombs or rockets allowing us to achieve extremely high precision at any range at relatively low cost," concludes Ramati.
