MNC-I SOLDIER KILLED SOUTH OF BALAD

BAGHDAD, IRAQ – A Multi-National Corps-Iraq Soldier was killed while conducting a patrol on May 23 south of Balad.

The Soldier was part of a team conducting counter-IED operations when the patrol was attacked by small arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades.

The name of the Soldier is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and will be released by the Department of Defense.
