
Naval Surface Warfare Center Awards General Dynamics $25 Million Ammunition Contract
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, Crane, Ind., has awarded General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems a firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for 25mm PGU-32/U SAPHEI-T and MK-210 HEI-T linked cartridges with a potential value of $25,397,620 if all options are awarded. The 25mm cartridge-linked configuration is fired from the MK38 deck-mounted Gun Weapon System, which utilizes the M242 25mm chain gun onboard Navy and Coast Guard ships and patrol boats. Work will be performed in Marion, Ill., and is expected to be completed by March 2011. The company is a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD).
