United States, Azerbaijan Conduct Political Military Talks

Discussions covered War on Terror, other security and defense issues

On March 29, U.S. and Azerbaijani officials conducted talks in Washington on a wide range of defense and security issues, according to a statement released by the Department of State March 31.

U.S.–Azerbaijan Political Military Talks

The U.S. Department of State hosted bilateral Political-Military Talks with Azerbaijan in Washington on Wednesday, March 29.

Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs Dr. John Hillen led the U.S. interagency delegation. Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov led the interagency delegation from Azerbaijan.

Assistant Secretary Hillen expressed U.S. appreciation for Azerbaijan's significant contributions to the global effort against terror. The two sides discussed a wide range of security and defense issues, and highlighted the joint commitment to increased cooperation.
