April 2, 2006 Release Number: 06-04-02CJ FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MND-B PILOTS KILLED BAGHDAD, Iraq – Officials confirmed the death of two helicopter pilots from Multi-National Division – Baghdad April 2. The Soldiers' remains were recovered following aircraft recovery operations at the crash site of their AH-64D Apache Longbow, which went down due to possible hostile fire west of Yousifiyah. As reported earlier, the crash occurred April 1 at approximately 5:30 p.m. while the Apache was conducting a combat air patrol. The names of the Soldiers are being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The incident is under investigation.
