The Department of Defense announced today that the 10th Quadrennial Review of Military Compensation (QRMC) will begin a review of military compensation on April 1 using the recommendations of the Defense Advisory Committee on Military Compensation to inform its research efforts.
The QRMC will focus on five main areas: ensuring the compensation system supports an adequate supply of military personnel with the abilities and experience to meet the national security objectives; maintaining quality of life for military personnel and their families; re-evaluating the special and incentive pays to enhance service flexibility; assessing the need for new, more flexible recruiting and retention authorities; and a review of the retirement system.
