Nepal Rebels-Bomb Detonation
Four security men were killed and six others injured when Maoists detonated three powerful bombs at a security checkpost in western Nepal.
Three soldiers and a policemen were killed when the Maoists exploded an improvised explosive device at a security checkpoint in Ghorahi Municipality in Dang district, 400 km west of Kathmandu, PTI report said here today.
Two soldiers, three policemen and a civilian were seriously injured in the incident that took place in Ghorahi, security sources said.
Those injured in the blast have been airlifted to Kathmandu and are receiving treatment at Military Hospital in Chhauni, a police official said.
Security has been beefed up in the municipality area and search operations to hunt down the attackers are on.
The Maoists have intensified their attacks against security forces and government offices over the past week.
Two soldiers were killed yesterday in a raid by rebels in Bharatpur Municipality, 170 kms west of the capital, the army said.
