Lockheed Martin's NxTrain Receives Department of Defense SCORM 2004 Certification

ORLANDO, FL, February 27th, 2006 -- The Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Co-Lab, an organization formed to develop and implement learning technologies across the Department of Defense, has certified NxTrainTM as Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM 2004) compliant. Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and Israel-based SimiGon produce NxTrain, a next-generation PC-based integrated training and learning management rehearsal solution.

“The certification provides a necessary level of assurance that our NxTrain technologies reduce ongoing costs for our customers by offering shareable and reusable content and facilitates efficient delivery of training based on Defense Department standards,” said Lorraine Martin, vice president of Flight Solutions at Lockheed Martin Simulation, Training & Support.

SCORM 2004 certification is a major milestone in the continuing development of NxTrain as a total training system. SCORM is a collection of specifications adapted from multiple sources to provide a comprehensive suite of e-learning capabilities that enable interoperability, accessibility and reuse of web-based learning content.

The Lockheed Martin-SimiGon team recognized the importance of structuring NxTrain to function across different training platforms, as well as with legacy training content early in the program’s development. “The successful completion of the SCORM 2004 Certification is only part of NxTrain’s continued commitment to providing innovative training solutions while maintaining a high level of internal control in all new product versions,” said Ami Vizer, president of SimiGon.

SimiGon is a provider of advanced training solutions for high-skill disciplines and professional communities. The company’s PC-based training platforms combines high fidelity 3D simulation, a learning and content management system, distributed mission training, a virtual instructor and easy content creation and publishing toolkits.
