Personnel of the United States Navy are training Pakistani military engineers from the 457th engineering battalion to operate the American construction equipment that are to be transferred to them.
`The News' reported in its Monday issue that Seabees Mobile Construction of the US Navy was imparting training to Pak military engineers, who are to operate the US construction equipment that are to be transferred to them on Monday.
As relief efforts move on to reconstruction in the earthquake affected areas, the US is turning over three D-7 bulldozers, one 15-ton dump truck, seven 1000-kilowatt generators and four generator skids, the daily said.
Measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale, the earthquake which hit Pakistan and Kashmir under its administration on October 8 last year killed over 73,000 and injured more than 4 million people.
Millions of homes and government and private buildings were destroyed in the natural disaster.
