AFGHAN, COALITION PATROLS ENGAGE ENEMY IN URUZGAN PROVINCE

BAGRAM , AFGHANISTAN -- Afghan and Coalition forces engaged enemy fighters while conducting offensive patrols in Uruzgan Province today.
Such patrols are being conducted through the winter months to deny the enemy sanctuary and hinder the enemy’s supply efforts.
The engagement occurred at about 11 a.m. when enemy fighters fired upon Afghan and Coalition forces near Deh Rahwod.
An estimated six enemy fighters were killed; the remainder fled the area.
There were no Afghan or Coalition casualties as a result of the incident.
