09 Jan 2006

YORK, Pa. -- BAE Systems has been awarded a $20 million delivery order by the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command to purchase long-lead materials for the anticipated follow-on contract to reset Bradley Combat System vehicles.

We are pleased to be able to continue to support the Army and are confident that our partnership with the Red River Army Depot will allow us to return these additional Bradley Combat System vehicles to combat ready status as quickly as possible, said Andy Hove, director of Bradley Combat Systems program for BAE Systems.

The contract provides for the procurement of long lead material and parts required in the reset of Bradley Combat System vehicles.

The Bradley Combat System provides outstanding survivability, mobility and lethality to U.S. soldiers in all types of close-combat urban scenarios or in open-combat terrain. The Bradley A3 features an advanced digital architecture that integrates communications equipment, digital sensors, battle management systems, embedded diagnostic and training systems. The Bradley fulfils five critical mission roles including infantry, cavalry, fire support, battle command and engineer squad roles for the Army's heavy brigade combat teams.
