TWO SOLDIERS DIE IN HELICOPTER CRASH

BAGHDAD, Iraq – Two Task Force Ironhorse Soldiers were killed Jan. 16 when their AH-64 Apache helicopter crashed in a swampy area north of Taji at approximately 8:20 a.m.

The aircraft was conducting a combat air patrol. It is premature to determine the cause of the crash.

The names of the Soldiers are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The area where the aircraft went down has been known for terrorist activity.

The incident is under investigation.
