Pakistan, Saudi Arabia holding joint naval exercises

Pakistan-Saudi Exercises
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have started joint naval exercises with the participation of a task group of seven Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF) ships, a Pakistan navy statement said on Monday.
The joint Pak-Saudi naval exercise Naseem AL Bhar-VIII will continue till December 15 in North Arabian Sea, the statement said.
The RSNF contingent is being led by Commander Task Force, Rear Admiral Sammi bin Mansoor Al Rafi.
During the exercise, a large numbers of RSNF and Pakistan Navy (PN) units including most modern Destroyers, Fighters, Missile Corvettes, Tankers, Mine hunters, Naval Aviation unit, special services group will participate in multi dimensional activities.
The opening brief of Naseem Al Bahr-VIII was held at Pakistan Navy Tactical School, PN dockyard where modalities of planning of harbour phases were worked out.
Sea phase of the exercise will begin in the first week of December.
Lastly de-brief session will be held to pinpoint strengths and weaknesses.
It may be mentioned that Naseem Al-Bahr is a regular series of exercise between Pakistan Navy and RSNF since last 13 years.
Pakistan Navy has the unique honor of playing a major role in the establishment of RSNF, the Navy statement said.
A large number of RSNF officers have been trained in Pakistan Naval Academy and other PN training establishments.
Both the navies over the period of time are conducting joint maritime operations and maintaining a constant interaction to find better mutual solutions and optimize the available resources.
