DoD Identifies Army Casualty

           

            The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. 

 

            Staff Sgt. Tommy I. Folks Jr., 31, of Amarillo, Texas, died in Baghdad, Iraq, on Oct. 19, of injuries sustained on Oct. 18, in Iskandariyah, Iraq, when multiple improvised explosive devices detonated near his HMMWV during convoy operations.  Folks was assigned to the Army National Guard's 2nd Battalion, 142nd Infantry Regiment, 56th Brigade Combat Team, 36th Infantry Division, Amarillo, Texas.
