Detainee dies at Abu Ghraib
Multi-National Force-Iraq
BAGHDAD , Iraq – A 20-year-old male security detainee died Aug. 15 of a suspected homicide at Abu Ghraib.
The detainee was discovered unconscious within the camp by fellow detainees. Emergency personnel took him to the 344th Field Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The military Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the incident, which is standard procedure after any detainee death.
The detainee's remains will be transferred to the family upon completion of an autopsy. This is standing procedure for all detainees who die while in custody of the Multi-National Force.
