Iraqi Police lead U.S. Soldiers to weapons cache sites

FORWARD OPERATING BASE KALSU , Iraq – Local Iraqi Police led U.S. Soldiers to two weapons cache sites west of Musayyib recently.

Soldiers also detained three suspected insurgents near the cache sites.

Items seized and subsequently destroyed include:

(1427) artillery rounds

(50) 37mm anti-aircraft rounds

(2) 107mm rockets

(2) mortar rounds

The Soldiers are from 1 st Battalion, 155 th Infantry, 155 th Brigade Combat Team, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward).

The 155 th BCT is a U.S. Army unit assigned to the II Marine Expeditionary Force (Fwd) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
