Local Iraqi leads Soldiers to weapons cache

Multi-National Force-Iraq

FORWARD OPERATING BASE KALSU , Iraq -- A tip from an Iraqi citizen led Iraqi and U.S. Soldiers to a weapons cache south of Karbala , Iraq on August 1.

Items seized and subsequently destroyed include:

(46) Rocket propelled grenade launchers

(1) Rocket propelled grenade

(121) 60mm mortar tubes

(5) 80mm mortar tubes

(1) shotgun

(2) AK 47 assault rifles

The Soldiers are from the 2nd Battalion 114th Field Artillery, 155th Brigade Combat Team, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward). The 155th BCT is a U. S. Army unit assigned to the II Marine Expeditionary Force (Fwd) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
