Sunni leader briefly detained
BAGHDAD , Iraq – Coalition Forces conducted an operation on a residence in the Adl district of Baghdad Aug. 2.
In the course of the operation, Sheikh Adnan al Dulaimi, who was present in the residence at the time, was briefly detained.
Coalition Forces were looking for a wanted suspect reported to have been staying at the residence.
Sheikh Dulaimi was initially restrained for approximately 10 minutes, but was treated with respect. Positive identification of all individuals was obtained swiftly and all were immediately released. Forces departed the residence within 15 minutes.
Coalition Forces caused some damage to the residence and will make full restitution.
