One Task Force Freedom Soldier killed when helicopter forced to land

BAGHDAD , Iraq – A U.S. helicopter made a forced landing near Tal Afar due to enemy fire Aug. 29, resulting in the death of one Task Force Freedom Soldier and the wounding of another Soldier.

The Soldiers' names are being withheld pending next of kin notification.

The incident is currently under investigation.
