| August 23, 2005 Release Number: 05-08-35C FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MARINE KILLED BY AN IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICE NEAR FALLUJAH CAMP FALLUJAH, Iraq – A Marine assigned to Regimental Combat Team-8, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), was killed in action Aug. 22 when the vehicle he was in was struck by an improvised explosive device. The incident took place during combat operations near Fallujah, Iraq. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Department of Defense.
