| August 11, 2005 Release Number: 05-08-16C FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SOLDIER KILLED BY SMALL-ARMS FIRE NEAR HABBANIYAH CAMP FALLUJAH, Iraq – A Soldier assigned to 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), was killed Aug. 9 by small arms fire. The incident took place during combat operations near Habbaniyah, Iraq. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Department of Defense. Several U.S. Army units are attached to II MEF (Fwd) during Operation Iraqi Freedom. The Multi-National Force-West Public Affairs Office at Camp Fallujah, Iraq, provided this release.
