Navy Picks General Dynamics to Continue Providing Support to Defense Property Accountability System
NEEDHAM, Mass. – The U.S. Navy Supply Information Systems Activity (NAVSISA) has awarded General Dynamics Network Systems a contract to continue supporting the development and maintenance of the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS). The time-and-materials contract, valued at $1.2 million annually, has a base performance period of one year with a one-year option. General Dynamics Network Systems is a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE:GD).
Under the DPAS contract, General Dynamics will supply systems analysts/programmers, application programmers, documentation specialists, software system engineers, technical editors and project managers to support the development and maintenance of the DPAS system and the DPAS help desk in Mechanicsburg, Pa.
“General Dynamics has had a great partnership with NAVSISA since this contract was first awarded in 2001,” said Ted Hengst, a vice president for General Dynamics Network Systems. “The NAVSISA contract re-award is a direct result of our past performance, commitment and understanding of the mission of NAVSIS and the U.S. Navy.”
DPAS provides DoD customers with an on-line capability to support all functions associated with property accountability and equipment management. DPAS can be used as a stand-alone property management system that provides general ledger control and depreciation schedule information to accounting systems, as well as documenting the physical control of installation equipment.
