BAE Systems Receives $31 Million Contract for C-130J Electronic Warfare Systems

NASHUA, New Hampshire -- BAE Systems has received a $31 million production contract from the U.S. Air Force to provide 31 AN/ALR-56M radar warning receiver systems for a new fleet of Air Force and Marine Corps C-130J aircraft and line replaceable unit (LRU) spares for the Taiwan Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft.
The ALR-56M detects radar emissions in the environment and notifies the pilot when it detects signals that could threaten the aircraft.
"This contract continues the excellent long-term relationship we have with the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center to provide critical systems for the war fighter," said Ken Bond, BAE Systems program manager.
To date, BAE Systems receivers are now onboard 34 U.S. C-130Js and 22 Italian C-130Js. More than 1,000 receivers have been provided to the Air Force and to international customers since the contract was originally awarded in 1988.
The contracting agency is Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Georgia. All production, test and delivery work will take place at the companys Greenlawn, New York facility. The production contract will run through 2007.
