TAMPA, Florida - REGIONAL COOPERATION 2005 (RC 05), a Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff sponsored, U.S. Central Command executed, and Joint Forces Command supported regional exercise for the South and Central Asian States (SCAS), will be held 14 – 27 August at the Joint Warfighting Center (JWFC), Suffolk, VA.

The exercise will focus on border security, counterterrorism, information sharing, military decision making processes, command and control, and terrorist attack consequence management techniques. It will consist of a four day coordination exercise followed by a two-day executive seminar.

REGIONAL COOPERATION 05 objectives were designed to improve interoperability, strengthen relationships, increase knowledge and understanding, and improve the training levels of participating staff and coordination agencies.

This exercise provides the environment for each participating country to accomplish their training objectives, and for their armed forces and civilian emergency services to gain knowledge and experience in large-scale international coordination and management of a regional response to an emergency or natural disaster.
