Task Force Liberty Soldiers detain two near Balad
TIKRIT, Iraq -- Task Force Liberty Soldiers detained two occupants of a truck that tried to run down dismounted Soldiers near Balad July 12.
The vehicle originally tried to merge with the combat patrol, but stopped after being signaled to pull over. When Soldiers walked toward the truck, the driver sped straight at the Soldiers. The Soldiers fired on the vehicle, wounding the passenger and stopping the truck.
The wounded individual was taken to a Coalition Forces medical treatment facility and the driver was taken to a Coalition base for questioning.
No Task Force Liberty Soldiers were injured in the incident.
