Zarqawi terror group hideout destroyed
BAGHDAD , Iraq – Multi-National Forces raided and destroyed a hideout used by terrorists associated with Abu Musab al-Zarqawi June 23.
Terrorists occupying the hideout near the Hamadi Fayadah area of Baghdad attacked Multi-National Forces operating there to rid the neighborhood of Zarqawi associates.
During the raid, Multi-National Forces discovered weapons, ammunition and explosives. As the clash continued, the house caught fire.
Multi-National Forces withdrew from the structure and terrorists continued to engage as the building burned. The fire caused the explosives inside to detonate.
Multi-National Forces secured the area for Baghdad emergency services personnel to extinguish the fire.
