Tips lead Task Force Liberty Soldiers to caches near Ad Dwar

TIKRIT, Iraq – Task Force Liberty Soldiers followed a civilian's tips on two consecutive days to seize a large quantity of materials used for making improvised explosive devices near Ad Dwar in Salah Ad Din Province.
Soldiers from Task Force Liberty's 1st Brigade Combat Team found a cache west of Ad Dwar June 19. Items recovered included; nine hand grenades, 12 blasting caps, two mortar sights and a large spool of detonation cord.
South of Ad Dwar, June 18, Soldiers found a variety of IED-related items, including hand-held radios hooked up with wires, cordless phones, blasting caps, circuit boards and detonation cord. No individuals were detained in the raids.
