IAI's TAMAM Division Introduces MiniPOP Electro-Optic Stabilized Payload
Jun 13, 2005
Israel Aircraft Industries' Tamam Division (IAI/Tama) has introduced its new MiniPOP day/night observation system for military, Para-military and civilian applications. The system is designed for platforms requiring advanced, lightweight observation capabilities such as small unmanned aerial vehicles (Eaves), armored vehicles, unmanned ground vehicles (UGV) and naval vessels.
The MiniPOP is a dual axis, gyro-stabilized payload based on a unique plug-in "slice" that can be replaced in the field in minutes. MiniPOP "slices" have a continuous zoom color day camera, a cooled forward-looking infrared (FLIR) camera and a laser pointer. Weighing less then 7 Kg, the payload is ideal for troops or small unmanned platforms requiring enhanced image processing and automatic video tracker.
MiniPOP is the latest addition to Tamam's plug-in optronic payload (POP) family. The POP family is a series of lightweight electro-optical (EO) payloads offering day and night observation capabilities. Applications include drug interdiction and smuggling detection, border and customs control, traffic monitoring and crowd and riot control.
System Specifications:
Size: 8" (21cm)
Weight: 6-7 Kg, subject to configuration.
Field of regard: Elevation: +25° to -100°
Azimuth: n X 360°
Stabilization: better then 50µRad
FLIR: Cooled. InSb 3-5 µm, 2 FOV
Day color Camera: CCD type, 1/4?, zoom X10, 4.4°- 44°
Video Tracker
