CONVOY CASUALTIES IDENTIFIED

CAMP FALLUJAH, Iraq – A Marine and a Sailor assigned to II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), previously listed as Duty Status Whereabouts Unknown, have been positively identified.

They were in a convoy that was attacked by a suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive device and small arms fire the night of June 23 in Fallujah.

All six service members killed in the attack have now been positively identified. Five Marines and one Sailor were killed in the incident.

Thirteen Marines were wounded in the incident. Six Marines have since returned to duty.
