Bangladeshi forces kill 5 suspected Indian terrorists

Six people, including five suspected Indian terrorists, were killed by Bangladeshi security forces Saturday in a shoot out in the country's northeast region, reports Press Trust of India.

The elite crime fighters Rapid Action Battalion and Bangladeshi Rifles border guards, following tip off, carried out combing operation in several areas of northeastern districts, including aulavibazar early today, Channel Eye Television said.

The suspected terrorists opened fire when the security personnel reached remote Puranbari village triggering a gunfight which left five suspected Indian terrorists and one of their Bangladeshi accomplice dead, the reports said.

The channel said security personnel seized grenades, guns, ammunition, mobile telephones and satellite phone from them. They lso arrested nine more including several Bangladeshis.

The security personnel suspect that they were members of an international terrorist organisation and that at least six of them were Indian nationals, the report added.
