Donley Tapped As Director, Administration and Management

            Michael B. Donley is now the new director of administration and management (DA&M) for the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).  Donley was sworn in May 9 by Raymond F. DuBois, acting under secretary of the Army, who had served as DA&M since October 2002.

 

            As DA&M, Donley is the principal staff assistant to the secretary of defense for Department of Defense organizational and management planning.  He oversees the DoD Freedom of Information and Privacy procedures and historical and information technology programs for OSD.

 

            Donley’s position is responsible for Washington Headquarters Services, a field activity that oversees management of the Pentagon, DoD leased space and administrative services within the National Capital Region.  The job also provides oversight of the Pentagon Force Protection Agency, which is responsible for antiterrorism, security and law enforcement.  In addition, Donley is in charge of the ongoing Pentagon renovation and construction program.

 

            Donley has more than 26 years of experience in the national security community that includes service in the Senate, White House and the Pentagon.  During his career he has been involved in strategy and policymaking at the highest levels and is a recognized expert in national security organization, planning and budgeting.
